Mario Alberto Sulú Canché, detenido por la muerte de por lo menos tres jovencitas, es el cuarto asesino en serie en la historia de Yucatán.
El ex futbolista profesional Wílbert Solís Albertos es considerado el primero, pues ultimó a tres personas.
Alfredo Aguilar Can (a) “Bunga” es el segundo asesino serial y cuenta en su haber con cinco homicidios —todos de homosexuales—, perpetrados en la década de los noventa.
Wílbert Román Gómez Carrillo (a) “Pájaro” fue el tercero, pues asesinó a tres indigentes, el último apenas el año pasado.
Aunque no es el primer asesino serial, la historia de Sulú Canché podría sorprender aún más en los próximos días, ya que la Policía Judicial tiene sospechas de que estaría involucrado en una cuarta muerte.
De acuerdo con archivos policíacos, Wílbert Solís Albertos —actualmente preso— dio muerte en 1979 al profesor Manuel Díaz Aguilar en la carretera Chuburná-Sisal.
El 11 de enero de ese año, cuando tenía 18 y estudiaba en la Preparatoria número 2 de la Uady, mató de tres balazos a José Borjas Cuéllar en la calle 116 con 79 de la colonia Bojórquez.
En marzo de 1993 concretó su tercer crimen, cuando ultimó a Nicolás Armando Toraya Ríos, directivo de Campi.
Al segundo asesino serial, Aguilar Can, se le atribuyen los asesinatos de Jorge Carlos Pizarro Barrera, en 1993; Hernán May Magaña, en 1995; Nicolás Manuel Hoil Canto, en 1997; Arcadio Francisco Balam Noh, también en 1997, además del modisto cubano Rigoberto Chaviano León, en 1996.
Gómez Carrillo, el asesino serial antecesor de Sulú Canché, mató en 1979 a un hombre en los patios de ferrocarriles.
En el año 2000 asesinó en el mismo sitio a otro indigente, aunque alegó homicidio en riña y salió al poco tiempo.
Finalmente, el 2 de febrero de 2007, Gómez Carrillo mató —con una piedra que le dejó caer sobre la cabeza— a otro indigente en ese mismo lugar.
El sujeto, un bebedor consuetudinario de 50 años, está preso actualmente por este último crimen.— Carlos Augusto Gebhardt Acosta
